PERU DAY TOURS – CITY TOURS – HUARAZ

Day tour around Huaraz city, where we will have an opportunity to know little bit more about huaraz city, on the tour we will visit the regional museum, Main square, Señor de la Soledad church, Calle Jose Olaya street (Huaraz’s ancient street), Huaraz view point, finally Monterey hot spring – Huaraz.

Itinerary description:

Huaraz – Montery Hotspring – Huaraz

Breakfast at 8:00 am departure at 9:00 am

Tour by bus, after your breakfast we will pick up you at your hotel with our touristic transportation, then we drive to the main square then we visit the Regional Museum, which contain houses one of the most significant collections of ancient stone sculptures in South America. Small but interesting, it has a few mummies, some trepanned skulls and a garden of stone monoliths from the Recuay culture.

Then we continue driving to Soledad church, where it is traditional to make offerings as candles. After the church our visit continues with a walk to the Calle Jose Olaya, the just only street in Huaraz that survived the devastating earthquake of 1970, and thus preserves the unique example of Huaraz’s colonial architecture. As you wander down the narrow, you will be able to observe old and new houses with their balconies and their doors all of the same color, where you can imagine, how Huaraz looked before the disaster. And even if you visit it on Saturday or Sunday you will see in each houses people sell traditional Andean cosine.

Then we will continue driving until Huaraz view point, where we will see the completely of Huaraz city and many snowcapped peaks in the background, after taking pictures about it we go to Monterey hot spring. Where We finish with our trip, Monterey hot spring is located 7 km to the north from Huaraz, there are individual pools and families pools, the average temperature of water is 48º C, after that we will have lunch in a touristic restaurant, after that in the afternoon we will come back to Huaraz.

We will return about 3 pm.
